Eilean Siar Lunch and Learn

This event is now fully booked!

Date: Thursday 22nd August 2024
Time: 10.00am to 1.00pm

Calling organisations that support unpaid carers and the people they care for in Na h-Eileanan Siar!

Join us for an intimate and informal 'Lunch and Learn' event in Stornoway, where we're delving into all things short breaks and respite (including potential funding and collaboration opportunities). We are particularly keen to reach organisations that support disabled children and young people and their carers.

The event is organised by the Short Breaks Fund, which provides funding from the Scottish Government to increase the range and availability of short breaks and respite across Scotland. We will also provide information on Respitality our pioneering social tourism initiative which connects carers’ organisations with hospitality, tourism and leisure businesses who are willing to donate a break free of charge.

What to expect

Through the day we hope to facilitate networking opportunities, connecting local organisations passionate about supporting carers and those they care for nuances of short breaks and increase our wider organisation’s understanding of the challenges island carers uniquely face in accessing short breaks.

If you have any questions about the event please don't hesitate to be in touch, and please feel free to distribute this information to other organisations you feel would be interested.
