Full service description:

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice provides Day Respite for young adults from 16 years old living with a life-limiting condition. Our staff provide care and support within a warm and friendly atmosphere from Monday to Friday (occasional weekends), 10am until 4pm. Care provided is one-to-one plus two hours of two-to-one care. We are committed to ensuring that young adults receive the highest quality care.

The Respite Service has been produced with and for young adults with life-limiting conditions and their families and carers.

The Respite Service allows young adults to take time out of their routine to have fun and socialise while providing vital respite for their families and carers. Up to three young adults can use the service at the same time. It might be that the young adults already know each other, or it might allow them to meet someone new.

Our dedicated Young Adult Team will get to know young adults and their care needs, helping them feel supported and have a fun and safe stay with us. They will help to plan the Day Respite activities while young adults are with us.

Young adults will have access to our Young Person's Lounge, the Multi-Purpose Room, the Sensory Room, the Living Well Hub, the Art Room, the gardens, and the Barga Cree Café.
