Brief description:

We offer befriending, short breaks for carers (maximum 2-3 hours weekly), information on local support and resources, and support to make plans for the future. Our service is aimed at supporting people and carers of people with deteriorating health conditions who are in or approaching the last year of life. All services are provided by trained and supported volunteers.

Full service description:

In a new project funded by the Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership, Strathcarron Compassionate Communities Team are developing a team of volunteers who will be offered training and support to become Strathcarron Compassionate Neighbours. The Compassionate Neighbours will offer a range of support to individuals and families, including helping them to stay connected to their community, supporting them to to continue to do the things they enjoy, providing a listening ear, or simply sharing a cup of tea and a blether.
