Brief description:

We work with people who have a disability who are between 16 and 65, who live with a parent / carers and who have an allocation of respite from the City of Edinburgh Council. Break Away provides tailored respite to meet the needs of individuals and their carers. The service will help you: find the right break for you and help you plan find staff to support you to have a break make bookings and payments manage your short breaks budget.

Full service description:

Break Away is a Self Directed support respite project based in Edinburgh, which has been offering respite to individuals since 2010. Types of breaks could be: Have a short break in a care home Get support to arrange a short break in the community Arrange your own short break with a Direct Payment Individuals who use Break Away have a budget assigned to them either as an Individual Service Fund (ISF) which is managed on their behalf by Break Away. Break Away co-ordinators support people to plan and organise their breaks and find suitable support, matching individuals so they can share the cost of support and develop friendships.
