The Cottage Companion Club offers a registered day care service for people 65 years and over with a diagnosis of dementia. We can accommodate up to 10 people each day. Our club offers a safe and friendly environment for those who enjoy company and who at times may feel isolated and alone.

Full service description:
The Cottage Companion Club offers a registered day care service for people 65 years and over with a diagnosis of dementia. We can accommodate up to 10 people each day. Our club offers a safe and friendly environment for those who enjoy company and who at times may feel isolated and alone. We hope to offer opportunities to socialise and have fun through a variety of activities. There are a variety of activities available, music, singing, reminiscing, music and movement, crafts, quizzes, board games and crosswords.
Price information:
Significant proportions of the service are subsidised by a grant from Department of Health and Social Care, however for the part that is not sunsidised we do ask for a monthly contribution. Please speak to the service for up to date information on this.
What is included/not included in the price of the break:
Meals during the day include morning tea/coffee and toast, a two course lunch with various options, then afternoon tea and biscuits. From time to time we do offer outings and special activities for which we may ask a small extra charge to cover these costs. Please speak to the service with regards to this.
Any other information you think people might find helpful:
This service is available to people all over Edinburgh, however check with the Service about transport areas. We can pick you up and drop off if seats are available on the transport we provide. You can also make your own way to us or travel with your carer. Our transport is in specified geographical areas and seat allocation is determined on availablility in those areas. Please speak to the service about the areas and allocation. We do encourage carers/relatives the chance to attend any meetings to discuss care issues relating to the client, including six monthly reviews, or just to pop in and have a chat.
