Full service description:
Supported travel and adventure for autistic and learning-disabled young people. Edge Adventures was created by the founder of Edge Autism, Samantha Roberts, an innovator within the social care industry. Edge Autism specialises in working with young autistic and learning-disabled people aged 18-35, using a person-centred approach. This means young people can set and achieve their own measurable outcomes, supported by our specialist team. This allows young people to realise and take pride in their own success. Edge Adventures uses this person-centred approach, combined with the many benefits of the great outdoors, to help transitioning teenagers and young people achieve their outcomes. Whether the goal is to try something for the first time or make new friends, gaining essential life skills and the confidence to gain more independence is a given. Edge Adventures encourages young people to experience Scotland like never before, through a combination of outdoors, wilderness and water. Edge Adventures offers fully supported residential trips in the Highlands; day trips throughout Scotland; and local seasonal, weekly clubs. These include a range of activities: from abseiling and kayaking to bushcraft and digital animation; and Dungeons and Dragons or Warhammer club. Now with global adventures scheduled for 2022, autistic and learning-disabled young people can travel with us internationally, fully supported and without limits, with their peers and new friends, in truly amazing places around the world. Edge Adventures is proudly part of Edge Autism Limited, a 6-star care at home and community service for autistic teenagers in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
